A key reference tool for Latin American studies...

This was one important reference tool that was selected for inclusion in "The New Essential Guide to Spanish Reading" which is published by America Reads Spanish: a campaign aimed to increase the use and reading of the Spanish language through the thousands of libraries, schools and book stores in the US.

Great information, well written

This is one of the best spanish books I have ever used for college classes. This is not an ordinary textbook, it's written more like a story of the history of Latinoamerica. I truly enjoyed reading each chapter. I not gained a great understanding of the history of Latinoamerica, but I really improved my spanish. The vocabulary utilized in this book is challenging, which is great for an advanced spanish student.
